Therefore, we summarize: it is better to make a warrior or a thief out of an Argonian, but they do not shine with anything special.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: afloat or underwater, the hero cannot fight. But enemies can, and this is a great reason not to go into the water without special need.

Breton

Skills: +10 Spellcraft, +5 Speech, Alteration, Restoration, Alchemy, and Illusion

The Bretons are the inhabitants of the northwestern province of High Rock (the one where the kingdom of Daggerfall is located). Skills and features open a direct path to magic for Bretons, but I do not recommend making pure magicians in the game, because according to the current state of affairs (version 1.1), they live much worse than warriors and thieves.

But you can make a warrior out of a Breton - moreover, an excellent warrior and very resistant to magic. Racial mana regeneration, of course, is still a battery, but you can use it only once a day - you won’t be particularly disenchanted here.

However, don't let that bother you. If you do not disdain holes in the balance (an enchantment for zero mana costs, for example), then mages can also be played.

imperial

Skills: +10 Recovery, +5 Enchantment, Destruction, 1H, Block, Heavy Armor

Imperial - standard warrior, one piece. Developers offer guests from Cyrodiil to use one-handed weapons with a shield, heal as needed and wear heavy armor. Almost everything sounds good, but heavy armor can be replaced with light armor. The difference in defense is not that great (especially for blacksmiths), and light armor weighs much less and is more comfortable to wear.

The ability to take a timeout in close combat is also very useful. But remember that a happy brief moment of peace and friendship can be spoiled by your companions if they decide to continue the fight at that moment (and they do).

Khajiit

Skills: +10 Stealth, +5 One-Handed Weapons, Shooting, Lockpicking, Pickpocketing, and Alchemy

Cat-like Khajiit are cute guys. They come from the south, from Elsweyr, and we are supposed to make typical thieves out of them. But I would say that they are worth taking solely because of the appearance. Why? And because:

  • Quadruple damage in fights is almost useless - except in fisticuffs to win, and there are not many of them in the game.
  • Night vision is realistic, but useless at all, since the dungeons are already very light. Yes, and in the fresh air there is little use for it, especially since you can always wait for the morning on the street.

In addition, it is not clear why this night vision turns off every minute with a click? After all, you can immediately turn it on again. Wouldn't it be better to make it last until the player decides to knock him out? Something here the developers obviously did not think of.

Forest Elf

Skills: +10 Shooting, +5 Alchemy, Pickpocketing, Lockpicking, Stealth and Light Armor

Wood elves are archers and also thieves. This is evidenced by the bonus increase in their skills. But with everything else they have complete seams. Resistance to poisons comes in handy very rarely, I already spoke about diseases - they are harmless. And in order to tame an animal (and even once a day), you must first find it. This is not easy to do in the open air, and even more so in the dungeons.

The look of the wood elves is also not very pleasant. In general, an unsuccessful race - neither here nor there.

North

Nords are classic warriors. They can swing a huge ax over their heads, they can carry a shield and a sword. In a difficult situation, like the Imperials, they can take a breather for half a minute - however, only if the enemies are nearby.

But the coolest thing about the Nords is their natural resistance to cold. I can safely say that this is the best game feature in Skyrim. Why? Because it's cold here, and the enemies here very often hit with cold magic. Many dragons breathe cold. Cold icicles are thrown by witches and sorcerers in the open air and in dungeons. And finally, the cold blows from the Nordic tombs - the Vikings who have risen from the dead love to freeze those who disturbed them. And you will often go to the tombs. So, if in doubt, take the Nord, you will not regret it. This race is both useful and quite nice (certainly more beautiful than orcs and elves).

Orc

Skills: +10 to heavy armor, +5 to blacksmithing, blocking, two-handed and one-handed weapons and enchantments

Against the backdrop of the mighty Nords, the orcs are somehow lost, although they seem to be warriors too. In addition, in the place of the orcs, I would be offended by the developers for not giving them a single resistance. Even a small increase in health would be welcome. But, alas, the orcs turned out to be unworthy even of such smallness.

However, the ability to take a whole minute and almost with impunity to chop everyone around is useful in boss fights. But once a day ... Somehow not enough if the player is not ready to force the orc into bed after each dungeon.

redguard

Skills: +10 to One-Handed Weapons, +5 to Blacksmithing, Shooting, Alteration, Destruction, and Blocking

The Redguards, neighbors of the orcs in the province of Hammerfell, are also warriors. Alas, in their area they lose to both Nords and Orcs. Their racial trait is somewhat goofy, poisons in Skyrim are not such a big deal.

There are few spiders in the game, they cannot seriously poison, and besides them, poisonous creatures can only be found in Dwemer ruins. But once per day, an infinite supply of energy allows the Redguards to sprint for a whole minute, bludgeon enemies with powerful blows and sniper from afar. Not God knows what, but also useful.

Dark Elf

Such a class in the game is quite viable, and although fire resistance is not as useful as cold resistance, it will help in the battle with flamethrowing dragons.

Dwemer ruins are not only puzzles and poisonous creatures, but also valuable sources of soul stones.

These are the purest magicians, which, however, are quite difficult to play in Skyrim due to poor balance. imperial

Imperials are one of the most standard classes in the game. From this hero, you can pump a classic warrior who wields swords, a shield, has a large supply of strength and health. By default, the hero of this race has +10 points to recovery and 5 points to destruction, one-handed weapons, block, heavy armor. Playing as an Imperial will bring one nice bonus to those who like to search all the nooks and crannies of locations and boxes - in each chest the character finds a little more gold.

The heavy armor bonus does not limit class variability. You can easily replace heavy armor with a light jacket and make an assassin or a thief out of an imperial. The Imperials are the best decision on which race to choose in Skyrim for a warrior.

Khajiit

Khajiit are humanoid cats, versatile fighters. "Cats" come from the southern regions. Orc.

This, however, cancels only formal restrictions on the development of the class and removes the need to choose important skills, the growth of which will depend on the development of basic characteristics. More precisely, the total number of such abilities is large, but only a small part of them can be selected for the entire game. As a result, this leads to the practical need to choose the specialization of the hero; there is no possibility to develop a station wagon using perks. The role-playing system of the Skyrim game is such that skills reveal their full potential only when studying perks related to a specific skill. High-level perks, those that are available only with a significant development of the skill, can completely expand the hero's arsenal with useful abilities. So you can sell stolen items to any merchants, impose two properties on items for enchantment, steal those items that are in the hands of the inhabitants of Skyrim. As a result, it is with perks that we determine the class of the hero, it is on this that the specialization of the character depends.

The division into three character classes: mage, warrior, thief in The Elder Scrolls 5 is somewhat arbitrary, since you may well get an unusual combination of abilities, for this you just need to develop the necessary skills with perks. But let's look at the base classes in more detail, as a general advice, we can give a recommendation on ignoring related skills, not directly related to the activities of your character. That is, if communication with residents, low prices for goods and other abilities of the speech skill are fundamentally unimportant to you, do not invest perks there. Similarly, if you do not plan to create new items for yourself, you can ignore the blacksmith skill. Otherwise, the perks may not be enough for the deep development of the necessary skills.

Mages in Skyrim should decide on the schools of magic, choose those that will be actively developed and used. Within the framework of each such school, it will also be necessary to highlight the necessary areas, for example, within the framework of the school of destruction, you must immediately decide on the choice of elements. It is also worth preparing for the fact that there will not be enough perks for the development of all schools of magic in principle. No one forbids the use of edged weapons, as well as a bow (the last weapon will always be effective, which I have repeatedly written on the site). However, you should not invest in perks in non-core skills (more precisely, with caution). Even this set of tips will not help overcome mage's health weakness, and you should not expect much interest from passing the game with such a character, although it will not be boring either. In order for the enemies to burn in a bright flame, and even in groups, the hero will have to be developed well. At first, it will be quite difficult to play, and in the future, weakness in close combat will remain, and a lack of health will be a hallmark of the hero.

It's easy to play as a warrior in Skyrim, even perks are not needed at first. Here you just need to decide on the choice of weapons, and armor. Both of these decisions cannot be called too difficult, since, unlike the schools of magic, the choice comes down to one of two. Only two types of armor: light and heavy are present in The Elder Scrolls 5, weapons are also divided into one-handed and two-handed. So not only is it easier to play the game as a warrior, but it is also easier to choose a development plan for the hero. As a result, this approach can lead to fairly quick boredom of the gameplay, although it depends on your preferences and style of play.

The path of a thief and a hired killer looks the most interesting and exciting. In some ways, the development of skills can coincide with a warrior, since even a thief will not be hindered by the development of possession of one-handed weapons, it will be possible to choose any school of magic. It is worth paying attention to the magic of change or illusions, these are the schools that will be most useful to the thief. Hidden attack, sneaking and archery skills will be useful for such a character, but even in this case, you will have to choose the most necessary and useful perks.

Such a division of classes in TES 5 is rough, but quite justified. Let there is no clear definition or choice of class in Skyrim, but each new level puts us in front of a choice: which perks to learn. So in the end, the hero acquires characteristic skills and abilities, albeit without an unambiguous definition of the class. Retraining in Skyrim will not work without the use of codes, so it makes sense to evaluate and choose the prospects for the development of the hero right away. Some of the skills will be useful to all heroes, so stealing will be effective for all characters, although you can get away with only two perks in this useful skill. Anyway, planning the development of your character in the role-playing game Skyrim will allow you to use the most powerful additional abilities, which gives senior perks. However, there is no urgent need for such an approach, since it is difficult to completely spoil the hero in Skyrim, and a large selection of difficulty levels will help correct the situation.
