At the moment, very often mobile Internet is unreasonably expensive. In this regard, if you have a home high-speed Internet and a smartphone on the Android platform, you can connect via a USB cable.

But first you need to carry out some manipulations with a personal computer. Also, if necessary, you need to find, install a special driver that is suitable for your smartphone.

This needs to be done in order to. If it is already installed, then when you connect the phone to the computer, a system window will appear. In it, the user, if necessary, can view the files stored in the smartphone.

After checking the availability of the necessary driver, we start working with the PC:

  1. First you need to go to "Local Area Connection". As a rule, the icon for this system window is located in the lower right corner of the screen.
  2. In the new system window, right-click on the current connection and go to "Properties".
  3. After that, select the "Access" section and mark the line where it says "Allow other network users to use the Internet connection."

To solve the question of how to connect the phone to the Internet through a computer via a USB cable, you will need to install a special application, which in this case will act as a link between the mobile device and the PC.

Android Debug Bridge

The easiest way to connect a mobile device to the Internet via a PC is to install the Android Debug Bridge. After downloading, the program must be unzipped.

You will also need to enable debug mode using the USB cable. To do this, you need to become a developer on a smartphone. Let me tell you right now, it's not hard.

To get developer rights on your smartphone, you need:

  1. Go to the phone settings and select the "About phone" or "Phone" section (it can be called differently, since it all depends on the smartphone model).
  2. Then look for the line where the build number is indicated, click on it 10 times.
  3. After that, in the settings you will have a new section "Developer", "For Developers" or "Developer Options".

After that, you can activate USB debugging. Now back to the program itself. Once you unzip it, find and open AndroidTool.exe.

Then a new system window will appear in front of you, in it you need to click on “Refresh”. Next, select "Select DNS to use", mark "DNS" and click on "Connect". As a result, you will see a window with a scrolling connection line.

When connected correctly, this window should show the entry "Connect Done". This will mean that the personal computer can be used as your smartphone.

In this case, an entry may appear on the phone asking you to grant rights to the user. Don't be afraid, just click on "Allow" and that's it. It is noteworthy that in this case root rights are not required.

AndroidTool

To solve the question of how to connect your phone to the Internet through a computer via a USB cable, you can use the AndroidTool utility.

Also, there is a very important point here, in this case it is necessary. To do this, you need to install the "Kingo Android Root" application on your personal computer.

After that, you need to enable USB debugging mode on your mobile device. You also need to enable permission to install applications from unknown sources.

Important! In this manual, we are talking about Android devices, that is, ways to connect your phone to the Internet through a computer via a usb cable do not work on another OS.

A problem often arises - there is no Internet on the phone and there is no way to use Wi-Fi, but there is a computer with a working network. This article describes a simple solution - connecting via wire.

All you need is a USB cable, a wire to charge the device. No programs or complications.

Unfortunately, the iPhone and Windows Phone do not have a feature to connect to the World Wide Web. Of course, there are some programs aimed at creating a bridge between computers and devices with the above operating systems. However, this method does not affect this.

Connect the phone with a wire. It is worth making sure that the laptop recognizes the smartphone. If everything is in order, then upon contact, the PC will make a characteristic sound, and the device will be displayed in the disk folder.

If the computer "does not see" Android, although the device shows a successful connection, then you need to install the driver. This program helps the PC to interact with the gadget. Be sure to look for a driver for your model, others most likely will not work.

After installation, the phone will be displayed, but if this does not happen, then it is worth checking the cable and USB connector of the PC.

How to connect your phone to the Internet through a computer using a usb cable

Go to your Android gadget's settings. In the first group of settings, you must select the “more” tab. Among the proposed items, you will need the USB internet item. Sometimes the name of the tab is different, but the meaning is the same. You need to enable this item.

Next will be manipulations with the computer. First, it's important to log into the network and sharing center. You can go there, RMB on the web connections icon in the taskbar, usually on the right. If the find button does not come out, then there is an alternative:

  • Start.
  • Control Panel.
  • Categories.
  • Net.

Then click the Network and Sharing Center. In addition to the main block of hyperlinks, there are several on the left side of the menu. Among them, you need to go directly to "Change adapter settings".

The open dialog box shows the active links to the servers. The list of names also contains the Internet through which the PC itself works. It is not difficult to find it, by wired or wireless type. In addition, there is a web created by an Android device. Better to rename it.

Right-click on the connection icon related to the PC, go to the "Access" panel. Next, enable the "Allow other users to connect to this computer" option.

If the PC has three or more active networks, it will be mandatory to indicate specifically to whom access is granted. It is important to select the one that the smartphone created from the list of networks and exit by selecting save.

Go to the network properties of the smartphone and in the window, without going to other tabs, double-click on "Internet Protocol Version 4". The default addresses will be entered in the default fields. The first line will have to be changed to 192.168.0.1.

Most likely the address is different. In this case, first check the box next to "automatically obtain IP", exit, saving. Then return to the properties, to the same protocol tab and enter the numbers indicated above in the first field.

Now, when you click on the second line, a different address is entered. If this does not happen, you must press the Tab key. Next, you need to close the window, saving the changes.

After all operations, the phone will be successfully connected to the server. If you need to disconnect the cable and reconnect it, then the procedure will need to be partially redone. But, given that it takes half a minute, it will not be difficult.

In this article, we want to tell you about an interesting feature on Android smartphones called USB tethering. This function allows you to distribute the Internet from your phone to your laptop via a USB cable.

It's one of the easiest and most reliable ways to access the Internet on your computer, laptop, 2-in-1 tablet when you're on the go. If you don't have access to a free public Wi-Fi network, but your phone has a generous data plan, then you can share internet from your phone to your laptop via a USB cable.

We have prepared detailed instructions with pictures so that you do not have any problems. Please note that we used a Xaiomi Redmi Note 3 Pro smartphone running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Some menu items may be different on your mobile device, but most settings should look and work the same.

Instructions: how to distribute the Internet from phone to laptop

Step 1. Turn on the Internet on your Android phone.

The first thing you need to do is turn on the internet on your Android device. Swipe your finger across the top of the screen and tap on the " Settings”, which looks like a small gear.

In the settings menu, find the section " Wireless network» and click on « SIM cards and mobile networks».

Look for the " Data transfer' and make sure its switch is on.

Step 2 Connect your Android phone to your computer using a USB cable.

Now use the original USB cable to connect your smartphone to your computer or laptop.

If you are connecting your phone to a computer, then it is advisable to use the USB port on the rear panel. As a rule, they work faster and more reliably.

Step 3. Turn on the USB tethering on your Android smartphone.

After you have connected your phone to your computer, go to the " Settings", chapter " Wireless network" and press " More».

Here you will see an option called USB modem. Turn it on.

Step 4. Wait a couple of minutes while the computer installs the necessary drivers.

If you have not previously distributed the Internet from your phone to your laptop, then your computer will start downloading and installing the drivers that are necessary for the USB modem to work. This process may take several minutes.

That's all! Internet access should appear on your laptop or computer. Open a web browser and go to any website.

Conclusion

Now you know how to distribute the Internet from your phone to your laptop using a USB cable. This method is especially good because it does not require a Wi-Fi receiver, which is often missing on desktop computers. In addition, sharing the Internet from your phone to your laptop using Wi-Fi consumes a lot of battery power on your mobile device.

Do you find this feature useful? How often do you use a USB modem? Let us know about it in the comments below.

Articles and Lifehacks

Adviсe

On each individual phone, there may be software differences in the menu from those indicated in this manual, but all of them will be with an intuitive similarity.

If more than one SIM card is used on the connected phone, then the Internet connection will come from the card of the first value.

APN in the settings must be specified correctly, and the tariff must allow connection to the network.

In this article, you will learn what are the ways to turn on the Internet through your phone on your computer. In this article I will talk about how you can set up a regular phone with Internet access as a modem, thereby saving on buying a USB modem.

A computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, monoblock, game console, etc., today needs an Internet connection. Buying USB modems and other bells and whistles is an investment in a "passive" or, more simply, extra expenses. How to avoid these costs? You can use a mobile phone as a source of Internet, especially since now mobile Internet speeds can replace wired Internet access in many areas of the Internet, and tariffs are very, very low ().

But, in order to set up the Internet through a phone on a computer, you need to know how this can be done.

  1. The easiest way to connect to the Internet via a mobile phone is to use a standard program that should come with a smartphone (for example, Nokia PC Suite). Usually it is on a disk, or it can be downloaded from the official website of the phone manufacturer. The phone is connected to the computer via USB or Bluetooth, the appropriate program is installed, it has a button "Connect to the Internet". Thus, the Internet connection via the mobile phone is established. Unfortunately, not all phones that can access the Internet have a disk with such a program, and some manufacturers do not include such software in the package. What to do in such cases? Read on.
  2. On devices with the Android operating system, there is a special button for this. You must press the Menu button - Settings - Wireless networks - Internet via smartphone. Check the box "Internet via USB" (until the device is connected to the computer via USB, the checkbox will be inactive). In fact, this is how we use . By the way, since version 2.2 Android allows you to use mobile by distributing the Internet via WiFi. To do this, it is enough to check the box next to "WiFi access point" in the same menu. Be careful, the battery with this switching scheme is discharged in about an hour in 2 hours. You can read about how to connect to WiFi here.
  3. If the first and second points cannot be applied, you can try to configure the connection manually. To do this, you will need to find and install the driver on the modem phone (before looking, check if standard drivers will be enough, often it happens). Once you have the driver installed you can take advantage of the articles that discusses the connection. The steps are exactly the same.

So, in general terms, I told you about setting up the Internet through a phone on a computer.

Unfortunately, in practice, difficult situations arise and not everything is so simple. If you encounter a configuration problem - you can leave a comment describing the situation, I will try to help you as soon as possible. Just a request - describe the situation in as much detail as possible, which operating system, which phone, how we connect the phone to the computer, if possible - screenshots of errors or what does not work.

That's all, subscribe to blog updates so as not to miss new useful articles! See you again.

What if you need Internet, where there is no Wi-Fi access point or a dedicated Internet line? This is especially true for those who travel a lot or are often on business trips for work.

There are several options here:
1. Buy a 3G modem from any mobile operator.
2. Use mobile internet through mobile phone.
3. Use mobile 3G Internet through a smartphone with a wi-fi module (90% of smartphones since 2012).

First option can be used if you do not have a mobile phone that supports GPRS or EDGE connections. Usually these are phones made before 2005. But this option is not cheap! You need to buy a 3G modem and pay a monthly fee for the Internet.

Second option more interesting. Here it is important that your phone supports GPRS or EDGE connection. In this case, you do not need to pay anything extra, because. mobile operators usually include a certain number of free megabytes of Internet in any tariff package. In extreme cases, you can choose a tariff package for yourself, where there are definitely free or inexpensive megabytes of the Internet.

I will tell you how to enable the Internet on a computer using a mobile phone using the Samsung C3322 Duos phone as an example. This phone has everything you need to use the Internet directly from your phone or connect it to the Internet on your computer. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a desktop computer or a laptop.

My goal was to connect my laptop to the internet via my mobile phone using a PC-to-phone connection via BlueTooth (bluetooth) to avoid fiddling with wires.

Now step by step how I connected my computer to internet via mobile phone using BlueTooth connection.

1. Check the Internet connection settings on your phone. To do this, you can send MMS. If it is sent, everything is in order, there is a connection. If it is not sent, you need to call the operator and receive settings from him via SMS and set these settings.

2. Turn on BlueTooth on your phone. In my case, the path on the phone is: Menu - Applications - BlueTooth - Options - Settings - Enable / Disable BlueTooth

3. Turn on BlueTooth on your computer. On my laptop, BlueTooth is turned on using the Fn + F3 key combination (the antenna icon or specifically the BlueTooth icon can be drawn on the BlueTooth power button). If your computer does not have a built-in BlueTooth adapter, you can buy it separately and connect via USB.

4. When BlueTooth is turned on on the computer, the BlueTooth icon will appear near the clock (lower right corner of the desktop). At the same time, additional drivers for the BlueTooth modem will be installed.

5. Click on this icon with the RIGHT mouse button and select "Add device". Then follow the instructions of the Add Device Wizard. During the search, the phone may ask for permission to connect to the computer, pay attention to this and click on "Allow" or simply "Yes" on the phone.

If the Wizard did not detect your phone, then check if BlueTooth is enabled on the phone, put the phone closer to the computer (range up to 10 meters), check in the START menu - DEVICES and PRINTERS (for Windows 7) your phone may have already been found earlier.

6. Go to the START menu - DEVICES and PRINTERS (for Windows 7), if the Wizard does not automatically transfer you to this panel after the search.

7. We click with the RIGHT mouse button on the picture of the found phone.

8. Select "Dial-up connection" - "Create a dial-up connection ..." (for Windows 7).

9. Select any modem from the list, usually the first one in the list.

10. Enter the phone number, usually *99#, you can find out more precisely from your operator or look on the Internet using the search. "Username" and "Password" are usually not filled in, this can also be checked with your operator. Next, we call the connection as you like - it's just a name.

11. Click the "Connect" button. The wizard will create the connection. Please note that the phone may ask permission to connect - click "Allow" or simply "Yes" on the phone. If the wizard displays an error message, the selected modem may already be connected, just select another modem from the list - repeat steps 7-10.

12. Everything. You can enter the Internet, which will prompt you to do the Connection Wizard. For the next connections, select the desired connection (via phone) already through the “ ” icon near the clock, the lower right corner of the desktop.

ATTENTION!!! If for some reason you need to delete an extra connection, go to START, select "Run", write ncpa.cpl this is a panel Network connections , which for some reason is hidden in Windows 7, and here you can already delete or rename connections. Use the RIGHT mouse button on the selected connection.

Thus, using your mobile phone, you can easily connect your computer to the Internet where there is no way to connect via a dedicated line or Wi-Fi connection.

Third option- this is to make a router or access point from your smartphone. On a smartphone, you need, respectively, to have either 3G Internet or regular mobile Internet.

So, open the top panel of your smartphone or tablet and turn on "Access to Wi-Fi / Wi-Fi Direct" (you need to hold your finger a little to open the settings).

Save the settings and open wi-fi connections on the computer (antenna in the lower right corner). In the list, select your network and connect by entering the password that was in the settings or the one that you yourself came up with.

Everything, now the Internet works on the computer!

All modern mobile devices are equipped with various modules that allow you to use them to access the Internet. However, you can not only surf the net on your phone, but also make your mobile phone a source of Internet for other devices.

Smartphone use

If you have a smartphone running on the Android OS, then the question of how to connect the Internet through the phone will have two solutions at once. Both methods described below are equally effective and are suitable not only for smartphones, but also for tablets with SIM card support.

If the computer (laptop) is equipped with a Wi-Fi module, you can make an access point from your smartphone that will distribute a wireless network.

After a message appears stating that the hotspot is active, click on it to open the settings. Select the "Access point settings" section.

Specify the network name, security method, and password. This data is set by default, but you can change it manually. Be sure to save your changes.

Connection to the access point created on the smartphone is carried out according to the standard scheme. Run a search on your computer for available networks, find your Wi-Fi point and connect.

If the computer does not have a Wi-Fi module, you can try using your smartphone as a USB modem:

If the connection is successful, a notification will appear in the system tray stating that the connection has been established.

If you are trying to set up the Internet on a computer that is running Windows XP or an earlier version of the OS from Microsoft, then most likely the modem driver will not install automatically. You will have to download it from the website of the smartphone manufacturer, force-install it, and only then try to access the Internet.

Mobile phone use

If you have a smartphone that supports the Hotspot function, then getting online will be easy enough. Another thing is if you want to connect to the Internet through a regular mobile phone. Before the advent of high-speed leased lines and wireless networks, this technology was used quite often, but recently it has been forgotten a little. Let's correct this oversight and revive useful information in memory.

The initialization line is individual for each individual tariff plan of a particular cellular operator. You can clarify these data necessary for a correct connection on the operator's website or in the technical support service.

Create a connection

After setting up your mobile phone, you can proceed to create a new connection. If you know how to set up the Internet on Windows 7/8/8.1, then you can easily cope with this task:

In a similar way, you can configure the Megafon modem if, for some reason, the standard program for connecting to the Internet refuses to work correctly.

If you are using Windows XP, then the names of the items and the order of creating a connection may be slightly different. However, the procedure itself remains unchanged, so it is important to understand its meaning.

For convenience, you can put a connection shortcut on your desktop. To do this, find the created connection, right-click on it and select "Create Shortcut". A window will appear asking you to place a shortcut on the desktop - click "Yes" to complete this operation.

Internet access

The equipment is set up, the connection is created - now you can access the Internet using your mobile phone:

Wait for the connection process to finish. If everything goes well, a notification will appear in the system tray that the connection has been established. Open any browser and check if the web pages are loading.

Surely many of you have found yourself in a situation where Internet access is needed right now, but there is no possibility of a normal connection.

This can happen in many places - in the country, on vacation or on a business trip. Ours decided to write an article about the GPRS settings of popular mobile providers Megafon, Beeline and MTS.

How to connect to the Internet through the phone

Let's talk a little right now. Providers can change the settings that are listed in this article. But this does not in the least reduce its relevance - we will tell you how to connect the Internet correctly through your phone. For your part, if something does not work out, you can always check the settings of Mts, Megafon or Beeline on their websites or ask the operator. Of course, the list of service providers is conditional. If you have another, less well-known mobile operator, such as Tele2 (Tele2), Utel (Utel) or NSS (Nizhny Novgorod Cellular Communications), then our recommendations will also be useful.

The tips in the publication that we will give are suitable for all popular phone models: Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and other reputable brands. You can even set up GPRS internet on a Chinese phone like Fly. So, let's go directly to manually setting up GPRS on a computer using a mobile phone. We will give a couple of examples of connecting the Internet via GPRS. Read on how to set up the Internet through your phone.

Connecting to a computer or laptop mobile phone

In order to connect the Internet through a mobile phone, you first need to connect the mobile phone to the computer. This is done using a special cable, which should be able to connect the phone like a GPRS modem. It usually looks something like this:

Note that this cable should come with a driver disk. It is from him that the GPRS setup on the computer will begin. Connect your phone via cable

Insert the driver disk from the cable into the drive, and wait for the installation window to automatically start. Or run the executable file from disk. Then follow the instructions of the installer. In general terms, you need to select a phone in the phone model selection window. Then select "Install a wireless modem". Don't forget to put a dot on "GPRS modem" and on "No APN name". Usually, these are standard items in the installation. Then you will need to name your GPRS connection and restart your computer.

Often, it happens that when installing mobile phone drivers, GPRS internet connection is not created automatically. In this case, you need to create it manually. When creating, you must specify a mobile phone as a modem. Below, we describe such a setup.

After these manipulations, you need to configure the phone as a GPRS modem. Open the "Control Panel" and the "Phone and Modem" icon. Find the connected mobile phone, enter it with the right button and click the "Properties" button. Found? Next, we will provide the provider data that you need to enter.

Beeline GPRS settings

Briefly about setting up GPRS with Beeline. Open the "Additional communication settings" tab, specify in an empty line:

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.beeline.ru"

Then click "OK" and again "OK"

  • Open "Network Connections" - "Your Mobile Phone"
  • In field Username indicate beeline
  • In field password indicate beeline
  • Check the box "Save username »
  • In field telephone indicate *99***1 #

MTS GPRS settings

Open the Control Panel, then the Phone and Modem icon. Open the "Modems" tab, select the mobile phone and click the "Properties" button, open the "Advanced communication settings" tab, specify in an empty line:

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.mts.ru"

Create a mobile phone connection if necessary. For example, to configure gprs for MTS Windows XP:

Start → Settings → Network Connections → Create a new connection

In this case, you need to select our mobile as a modem.

  • In the Vendor Name field, enter mts and click Next.
  • Specify phone *99# click "Next".
  • Username mts, password mts, confirmation mts click "Next".
  • Check the "Add a connection shortcut to the desktop" checkbox and click "Finish".

GPRS settings Megafon

In general, the GPRS settings for Megafon are no different from the previous ones. Let's illustrate point by point. In the installed modem, we enter the provider's settings, as well as before, through the "Phone and modem".
