How to remove standard applications on a tablet. Which built-in android system apps can be uninstalled

Many smartphone buyers can be called inexperienced. Such people do not even know how to uninstall applications. They think that deleting a program's shortcut from the desktop will also eliminate the application itself. But in fact, everything is somewhat more complicated. It is about the removal of programs and games that we will talk about in today's article. We will also tell you how to remove standard applications - those that were preinstalled by the smartphone manufacturer.

The easiest way is to remove those utilities that you previously installed yourself. It does not matter if you did it using Google Play or by downloading the APK file from a third-party resource. There are two ways to uninstall programs and games. The first one is the following:

Step 1. Go to the menu.

Step 2 Hold your finger on the icon of an application you don't need. The system will prompt you to transfer the shortcut to the desktop.

Step 3 Instead, move it to the button " Delete” at the top of the window. A pop-up menu will pop up in which you need to confirm your action.

Step 4 Quite quickly, the program will be removed from your smartphone.

As for the second method, it is somewhat more complicated:

Step 1. Go to the section " Settings».

Step 2 Select " Applications».

Step 3 You will see a list of all applications installed on the device. If this is not the case, then click on the item " Application Manager» (usually required on smartphones Samsung).

Step 4 Click on the program you are about to uninstall.

Step 5 In the menu that appears, click the " Delete».

Step 6 Confirm your action, after which the operating system will get rid of this application.

Removing preinstalled apps

It is much more difficult to eliminate system applications. The fact is that some smartphone manufacturers pre-install some games and programs in order to receive money from their developers. Most often, such programs cannot be removed, otherwise the creators of smartphones would not be able to earn money. But in fact, there are workarounds that still allow you to remove system applications.

However, be careful! You always need to understand which standard applications can be removed and which are better left untouched. The fact is that the elimination of some of them will entail the unstable operation of the entire operating system. If it is quite possible to get rid of any browser or navigation application, then it is better not to disturb the "Calendar" or "Camera".

You can remove built-in applications only by workarounds, using root rights for this.

If you have superuser rights, then download ES Explorer or some other serious file manager, and then follow these steps:

Step 1. Launch ES File Explorer or equivalent.

Step 2 Activate the Root Explorer item, at the same time granting root access to the utility.

Step 3 Navigate the internal memory along the path /system/app.

Step 4 Select the APK file of the app you don't need. If there is an ODEX file with the same name nearby, select it as well.

Step 5 In the context menu, select " Delete».

Step 6 On Android 5.0 and later versions of the operating system, all standard programs are in folders. This does not change the essence of the matter - you will just need to delete the entire folder, not individual files.

Step 7 Next follow the path /data/app. Updates to pre-installed applications can be stored here. They should also be removed. On Android 5.0 devices, again, updates are stored in separate folders. But this only makes things easier.

Step 8 You can also delete (and even need to) the database of system services and applications along with the cache. All this is stored along the way. /data/data.

Using Root Uninstaller

There is another way to eliminate objectionable programs. It consists in using the Root Uninstaller. This application also works only on gadgets with unlocked root rights.

Step 1. Run the program, at the same time granting it root access.

Step 2 Select the utility or game you wish to uninstall.

Step 3 Click the button Delete". In the same menu, you can make a backup just in case.

Step 4 It is done! In the same way, you can freeze applications. This will not free up space, but the program will definitely disappear from the menu.

The number of companies producing Android devices is constantly increasing. A couple of years ago, no one heard of manufacturers such as Xiaomi or Leco. And today they are starting to compete with such giants as Samsung and Lenovo. The competition is also in the development of applications for their devices so that users can take advantage of all the features of their devices. That is why when buying a new phone or tablet, it turns out to be almost completely filled with different programs, they are also called system or stock ones. Whether they are needed or just take up free space, it's up to you. But if you still decide to get rid of unnecessary programs, and at the same time clean it up to speed up your work, then we will tell you how to remove pre-installed applications on Android.

What applications can be removed?

There is no single list of programs that can be safely removed without harming the system, so everyone must determine for himself which ones are not needed. We offer a list of basic programs and those elements, the removal of which will not harm the operation of an android device, such as Google maps.

List of programs:

  • Voice search or dialing;
  • Help and support from the manufacturer;
  • Standard mail client or browser (Internet);
  • Unused video, audio players;
  • Google services not needed (Maps, Gmail, Gtalk, etc.);
  • All kinds of games, books, etc.

In no case, do not randomly delete applications or a file that you do not like, this can lead to a failure of the entire system! Any application is a file with the apk extension. It is this file that should be deleted. If available, you also need to delete files with the .odex extension. Then this procedure can be considered performed correctly.

This is what the system file itself looks like:

And here is a list of possible system applications to remove:

  • AccuweatherWidget.apk - weather widget;
  • AnalogClock.apk - analog clock widget;
  • BlueSea.apk , Aurora.apk etc. – all kinds of live wallpapers;
  • ChatON_MARKET.apk - chat from Samsung;
  • Encrypt.apk - encryption of a memory card;
  • Geniewidget.apk - news widget;
  • GooglePartnerSetup.apk - another Google social program;
  • Kobo.apk - magazines;
  • Layar-samsung.apk - augmented reality browser;
  • MobilePrint.apk - remote printing of documents;
  • PlusOne.apk is another social service from Google;
  • SamsungWidget* - different types of widgets from Samsung developers;
  • VideoEditor.apk - video editor;
  • Voice*.apk - programs for working with voice;
  • Zinio.apk - Internet magazines.

How to remove unnecessary pre-installed applications?

Removing standard programs without root rights, that is, manually, is carried out in the usual way. Choose "settings", Further "applications". Activate the required, and click delete.

There's nothing complicated here. Difficulties usually arise when deletion is not possible, or an error pops up during the operation. Then you need to use special programs or simply turn it off (for more details, see our video).

  1. We use ES Explorer.

We already wrote about where to download and how to use it. In the framework of this material, we will talk specifically about deleting on android.

After starting the explorer, scroll to the right or click at the top of the window, depending on the version, to open the menu. In it, you need to find and activate the "Root Explorer" in order to obtain the rights to remove preinstalled programs. It is usually located in the "resources" section.

Now it is possible to proceed to the removal procedure itself. In the Android system, pre-installed applications are located on the internal memory in the "system / app" folder. Highlight the desired file with a touch and click delete.

Some of them download their updated version additionally to the “data/app” folder. We recommend that you check for the presence of the program to be removed there as well.

A faster way is to uninstall the files from the "system" menu section. It is located in the initial menu, tab "APPS".

  1. We use CCleaner.

We have already published instructions for installing and working with c. To remove pre-installed programs, run cleaner and enter the main menu. We are interested in the "system" tab. We select it.

In the window that opens, there will be a list of all programs available for removal. You do not have to look for where exactly the applications are located. Removal is carried out automatically, literally with a couple of clicks (before deletion, the cleaner will ask). And then, he will reboot your device, for the correct completion of the work.

  1. Remove pre-installed programs using titanium backup.

In this video, we offer you a visual instruction of another way to remove system applications on android.

We note once again that if you are not sure about the purpose of a particular program, it is better not to delete it. We hope that this material was useful to you. If you have any questions, ask them in the comments. We will try to help.

Manufacturers of mobile devices running on the Android OS often integrate various software into the firmware of devices. Some of the pre-installed apps are very useful and fun. Others simply clog the internal memory of gadgets, acting as useless ballast. And the most annoying thing is that it is not so easy to remove system programs from Android, because there is no virtual Delete button in their properties. Let's see how to uninstall stock apps on Android devices.

Ways to clean Android from built-in software

The Android mobile system is developed on the basis of Linux and is closely associated with the Google IT corporation. Therefore, everything related to Google services on phones and tablets is preinstalled. Among such programs, one can single out YouTube, Google search engine, Play Mapket, Maps, Play Games and much more.

Despite the existing prohibitions on cleaning mobile devices from system software, there are several ways to remove such applications on Android:

  • through the Root Uninstaller utility;
  • using a file manager that can work with Superuser rights;
  • using the Debloater program and a personal computer.

Preparing to erase firmware

Any interference with system files can lead to unpleasant consequences - from small failures in Android to the loss of all personal data and settings. To prevent this, before deleting system applications on Android, it is recommended to make a backup copy of the mobile device.

To create a backup, you can use the MyPhoneExplorer utility. The procedure will be as follows:

Now, if the remote software causes a software failure, you can easily return everything to its place using the created file from backup.

To remove a pre-installed application on Android, you will also need to open root access on your mobile device. Only with its help, a regular user of the Android OS will be able to make any changes to system files.

You can activate superuser rights using the KingRoot program:

After everything is ready, you can proceed directly to erasing unnecessary programs on Android.

Cleaning the smartphone from unnecessary software through Root Uninstaller

If you have Superuser rights unlocked on your device, then the easiest way to get rid of unnecessary firmware is to use the Root Uninstaller program. Let's look at how to remove a system application on Android using it:

After rebooting Android, deleted applications from the mobile phone will disappear.

Cleaning the device from the pre-installed software can adversely affect its functionality or even lead to the failure of the device. To prevent the "bricking" of a smartphone or tablet, it is better to refuse to delete files opposite which the Android OS icon is placed.

Manual Erase Built-in Programs

If the required system application is not displayed in the list of pre-installed software (System apps) of the Root Uninstaller program or for some reason it is not removed, you can uninstall it through a file explorer that can work with extended rights. And such a manager is ES Explorer.

Using this utility, programs embedded in the Android system are removed as follows:

The final step is to clear the Android cache from residual files. The specified data is located in the data/data folder. In order for the changes to take effect, you will only have to restart your mobile device.

Cleaning the system from firmware through a computer

Considering how to remove built-in applications from an Android tablet or smartphone, the Debloater program should be noted. This utility works through a computer and allows you to erase preinstalled programs from a mobile device even without activating the superuser profile on it.

Many Android device manufacturers make money by installing so-called bloatware - almost useless applications like a news aggregator or an office document viewer. Most of these programs can be uninstalled in the usual way, but some of them are systemic and cannot be removed using standard tools.

However, advanced users have found methods to remove such firmware using third-party tools. Today we want to introduce you to them.

We clean the system from unnecessary system applications

Third-party tools that have the option to remove bloatware (and system applications in general) are divided into two groups: the first do it automatically, the second require manual intervention.

To manipulate the system partition, you need to get root-rights!

Method 1Titanium Backup

The famous program backup application also allows you to remove built-in components that the user does not need. In addition, the backup function will help you avoid annoying oversights when you deleted something critical instead of a junk application.

1. Open the application. In the main window, go to the tab " Backups» with a single tap.

2. In " Backups» tap on « Change filters».

4. In " Filter by type» mark only « Syst.».

4. Now in the tab " Backups” will display only built-in applications. In them, find the one you want to remove or disable. We tap on it once.

Before any manipulations with the system partition, we strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the list of applications that can be safely removed from the firmware! As a rule, this list can be easily found on the Internet!

5. The options menu will open. In it, you have several options for actions with the application.

Deleting an application (button « Delete”) is a radical measure, almost irreversible. Therefore, if the application just bothers you with notifications, you can turn it off with the button " Freeze» (note that this feature is only available in the paid version of Titanium Backup).

If you want to free up memory or use the free version of Titanium Backup, then select the option " Delete". We recommend that you make a backup first so that you can roll back the changes in case of problems. You can do this with the button Save».

It also does not hurt to make a backup copy of the entire system.

6. If you have selected a freeze, then when it ends, the application in the list will be highlighted in blue.

At any time, it can be thawed or removed permanently. If you decide to delete it, then you will see a warning.

Press " Yes».

7. When the application is removed from the list, it will be displayed as a crossed out one.

After you exit Titanium Backup, it will disappear from the list.

Despite the simplicity and convenience, the limitations of the free version of Titanium Backup may cause you to choose a different option to disable built-in applications.

Method 2: File managers with root access (removal only)

This method involves manually removing the software located along the path /system/app. Suitable for this purpose, for example, Root Explorer or ES Explorer. Let's use the latter as an example.

1. After entering the application, go to its menu. You can do this by clicking on the button with stripes in the upper left corner.

In the list that appears, scroll down and activate the " Root explorer».

2. Return to the file display. Then click on the inscription to the right of the menu button - it may be called " sd card" or " Inner memory».

In the popup window select " Device' (may also be referred to as ' root»).

3. The root system directory will open. In it, find the folder " system” - as a rule, it is located at the very end.

Enter this folder with a single tap.

4. The next item is the folder " app". Usually she is the first in a row.

Go to this folder.

5. Users of Android 5.0 and above will see a folder list containing both APK files and additional ODEX documents.

Those who use older versions of Android will see APK files and ODEX components separately.

6. To remove the built-in system application on Android 5.0+, simply select the folder with a long tap, then click the button with the image of the trash can on the toolbar.

Then, in the warning dialog, confirm the deletion by clicking " OK».

7. On Android 4.4 and below, you need to find both APK and ODEX components. As a rule, the names of these files are identical. The sequence of their removal does not differ from that described in step 6 of this method.

8. Done - unnecessary application removed.

There are others application explorers, which can use root privileges, so choose whichever option suits you best. The disadvantages of this method are the need to know exactly the technical name of the software to be removed, as well as the high probability of error.

Method 3: System Tools (Disable only)

If you do not set yourself the goal of uninstalling the application, you can disable it in the system settings. This is done very simply.

Open " Settings».

2. In the group of general settings, look for the item " Application Manager' (may also be referred to simply as ' Applications" or " Application manager»).

3. In " Application manager» go to the tab « All” and already there find the program you want to disable.

Tap on it once.

4. In the application tab that opens, successively press the buttons « Stop" and " Disable».

This action is completely similar to freezing with Titanium Backup, which we mentioned above.

5. If you turned off something wrong - in " Application manager» go to the tab « Disabled"(not present in all firmware).

There, find the incorrectly disabled and turn it on by pressing the appropriate button.

Naturally, this method does not need to interfere with the operation of the system by setting Root rights and the consequences of an error when using it are less. However, you can hardly call it a full-fledged solution to the problem.

As you can see, the task of deleting system applications is quite solvable, even if it is associated with a number of difficulties.

In one of my previous articles, I told you, dear readers, how you can install applications or games on your mobile device. Sooner or later, the programs on the smartphone lose their relevance, get bored, and also “ask” to be deleted in order to save space on the phone or memory card. This review will focus on the topic of uninstalling applications.

To begin with, I want to give a classification of removal methods. These include:

1. Removing third-party applications using the standard method, through the “native” application management utility on Android.
2. The use of various (not "native") programs that facilitate removal.
3. Using the built-in utilities that are part of the application (file managers).
4. Removing programs from the android market.
5. Uninstalling the standard utilities of your mobile device (those that are preinstalled by the manufacturer).

Removing third-party applications in a standard way, through the “native” application management utility on Android

Let's start with the simplest, in my opinion, method of removal. To do this, you need to go to the application manager in the Android operating system (application management tool). We follow the path: Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications . Here you have the opportunity to view all installed programs, both on the memory card and in the phone itself (there are four tabs at the top of the screen: third-party, just launched, all applications, on SD card). Choose what you need and delete it. The only thing is, you won't be able to uninstall all applications. The thing is that some programs have a high priority ( MANUFACTURER INSTALLED ), and in order to uninstall them you need to get ROOT rights. We will dwell on this below.

The use of various (not “native”) programs that facilitate removal.

In addition to the standard application management tool, there is another type of program (third-party, also called downloaded) that can help you remove unnecessary ones. An example of such utilities are , . Your attention is provided with a complete list of installed applications, uninstallation takes place with one touch of a finger, but again, you can not delete everything you want.

Using built-in utilities that are part of the application (file managers)

Another way to get rid of the redundancy of your mobile device is file managers, which include, in addition to their immediate functions, routines that remove applications. These include:, and others. As in the two previous cases, you are provided with the entire list of installed programs, with the ability to remove, but not all utilities.

Removing programs from the android market.

There are two ways to get the desired result:
1. Removing a free application, in which you simply go to the android market, click on the corresponding application or game and uninstall it. There are no difficulties in this.
2. Deleting (Returning) applications or games that you purchased with money. There is no particular difficulty here either. You can get money back. Learn more about how to do it.

Uninstalling the standard utilities of your mobile device (those that are preinstalled by the manufacturer).

Perhaps the most interesting and time-consuming paragraph of this article. You probably noticed that some programs on your mobile device, for some reason, are not deleted. I'll tell you a little secret, they are pre-installed (the manufacturer installs a set of standard software and protects it from accidental removal). The difference from third-party or downloaded programs is that they can only be deleted with administrator rights (you need root folder permissions /system).
For those who have such a privilege, they can read the article further, and for those who do not have the opportunity to own root rights to start with.

So, in order to remove standard applications, we will use a program called. For those who do not know, all programs installed on your mobile device are stored in a folder at / system / app. And in order to remove such an unnecessary program as Footprints and its widget (in our country this service is not very popular and is rarely used by anyone), you need to remove the following files from memory:

1. /system/app/HtcFootprintsWidget.odex
2. /system/app/HtcFootprintsWidget.apk
3. /system/app/HtcFootprints.odex
4. /system/app/HtcFootprints.apk

In order to clearly show you how standard applications or games are deleted, I want to show you the example of uninstalling a primitive file manager OI File Manager .

Before that, let me remind you again, you need superuser rights (Root) to perform this kind of manipulation. And it turns out that users install such programs, and subsequently blame the author teams for the inoperability of these applications. In addition, there is still a decrease in the overall rating of programs in the Android Market and other users, looking at the ratings, make hasty conclusions.

After a lyrical digression, let's go directly to the consideration of an application called. This program is able to uninstall not only system programs, but also common use (third-party). But let's not deviate from the goal, namely the removal of the pre-installed file manager. We go into me and launch the pre-downloaded application.

Select the application you need to remove (in addition to manually, you can use auto-search by entering the appropriate name in the context menu, which is located at the bottom of the screen)

After we have made a choice, we click on the application, after which a window opens in which there are two selection buttons: Recycle(removal) or Cancel(cancellation). We click on Recycle and we see that this application is trying to get the right to act as the system administrator of its mobile device. If you own such an opportunity, then the Superuser program opens, which requires confirmation to provide this application Root rights.

As soon as we agreed with the above actions, this utility will display a message stating that the uninstallation was successful. True, there is a small but, you have not completely removed what you wanted. A backup copy is stored in the so-called "basket" so that in case of an erroneous deletion you can restore it. If desired, it is possible to finally and irrevocably rid the memory of your device of all traces of this program.

So, I can congratulate you, firstly, on the fact that you have gained invaluable experience when working with your smartphone, and secondly, something new and useful, and also freed up some space in your mobile device.

I hope that this article could be useful for beginners in the field of knowledge of the Android operating system. The only thing I want to advise you is not to delete everything in a row, especially those applications that you have no idea about. Otherwise, you can uninstall some kind of service, after which you will have to reflash your mobile device.
