#IDARB

This 8-bit game does not shine with graphics, but it is addictive with its recklessness and action (). This is a kind of chaotic semblance of football, but only with various obstacles (platforms) on the field, along which characters with a ball are jumping. The goal is simple - to score the ball into someone else's goal, and the better you do it, the more points you will earn.

Lots of customizable “football players”, logos, tournaments, teams and so on. Up to 8 people can play locally or over the Internet at the same time.

IDARB is an excellent choice for a fun company where everyone can take part without skills or long training.

BORDERLANDS: THE HANDSOME COLLECTION

The handsome collection offers hours of bloody action with the destruction of marauders and monsters, accompanied by jokes. The re-release retains the “hand-drawn” art style, a huge selection of weapons and the possibility of character development. You can combine up to 4 players on one screen.

DIABLO III

An RPG like Diablo has made the transition from PC to console very successfully, which is why Blizzard's Diablo III is one of the best games in the genre available on Xbox One. The difficulty of the game also scales depending on the number of players, so it won't be boring or easy.

MINECRAFT

The open-world sandbox game with survival elements captured the hearts and minds of both young and experienced players and soon became the game everyone was talking about. The Xbox One version supports up to 4 players locally, expandable to 8 online. You can decide for yourself what you will do and how to play. Do you want to blow up resources and explore the world, or do you want to build the USS Starship Enterprise? What you do is entirely up to you and your friends, to describe the game in a nutshell.

GEARS OF WAR series

Gears of War was the game that introduced the world to the angry Marcus Fenix and his pals. IN Ultimate Edition the developers colored the world, removed the abundance of gray, worked on the details, but left the game mechanics original. You can mow down hordes of locusts, saw apart enemies with a lancer, jumping from cover to cover. Gears of War's co-op mode is one of the best in the genre. From a gameplay point of view, all parts are good for co-op, but the Ultimate Edition will delight you with its pictures, details and dynamism. You can also play co-op Gears of War 4, the game is available.

HALO: THE MASTER CHIEF COLLECTION

Halo: The Master Chief Collection can be considered a shining example of a high-quality re-release, in which not only the graphics are well polished, but also the classic Halo multiplayer is presented with the utmost precision and accuracy. You can join forces and play through the campaigns of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, such as Halo 2, 3 and 4, with the Halo 3: ODST's expansion pack. A well-implemented cooperative game mode and a vibrant atmosphere of the best space shooter. The Master Chief universe deserves your attention.

ROCKET LEAGUE

Play

Rocket League is an interesting combination of racing and football. The goal is simple: a team of several riders (from 1 to 4) must drive the ball into the goal. But if you try to rewrite the laws of physics, add indestructible cars and turbo acceleration, you will get RL. The cars have very sensitive controls, easily drive up steep walls, jump on the suspension and take off under acceleration. Rocket League is a crazy, driving and catastrophically fun game that you definitely need to play together.

FIFA/NBA/NHL

Never neglect the classics. It may seem that sports simulators have already reached their maximum and with each new release only the cover and the base of athletes change. However, it is not. A lot is changing inside the gameplay: the developers are adding new modes, improving graphics, refining the technique and movements of athletes. The games have a HotSeat mode, that is, there is co-op with the ability to play on one screen. Can your favorite team in real life not win the Super Bowl for a long time? But with you at the helm? Who knows!

EA-Games sports simulators do not have to be purchased; you can play for free with a subscription.

Resident Evil - Revelations 2

You can choose who will play the guitar, who will sing, and who will play the drums. Create your group and go ahead to conquer the star Olympus. This version of the game adds a new trick: a virtual guitar solo. That is, now the players themselves can play for their own pleasure at a certain moment. Your neighbors may absolutely hate you, but at least you'll have a good time.

Not an easy task, considering that instead of arms and legs you have bulky, twisting, sticky tentacles.

Dadliest Catch offers a rather unique co-op experience for up to 4 players. Each controls one of the octopus' tentacles. And the simplest action, such as making coffee or mowing the lawn, turns into an exciting quest. The game will help you not only have a good time, but also laugh heartily.

Looking for something to play on Xbox One that you'll definitely enjoy? Or are you planning a New Year's gift for the owner of this console? In both cases, your eyes will probably run wild from the huge number of names. To help you decide, we've compiled a list of the 11 best Xbox One games available today.

But before moving directly to the games, let's turn to the eternal question.

AAA or indie?

The Xbox One console has come a long way since its release in 2013. Microsoft fixed the reported hardware bugs by releasing first the One S and then the One X earlier this year. But the main problem of the console remains unresolved: we are talking about the lack of exclusive games that are not available on other platforms. In recent years, third-party games that were released as exclusives on Xbox One were later released on other platforms, including Windows (and sometimes even macOS) via Steam.

This often happened with the PS4, but the difference between Sony is that it itself releases games that, accordingly, do not go beyond the PlayStation. This is not to say that there are absolutely no worthy exclusives on Xbox One. Another thing is that it is rarely something outside of the eternal Halo-Forza-Gears of War. So now all hope is for indie. Microsoft has promised to fix this in the future, so the situation may change in a couple of years.

Microsoft proved that indie games could find an audience on consoles when they released Braid on the Xbox 360 in 2008. Nine years later the situation has changed significantly. The Nintendo Switch has become home to niche titles, while the number of blockbusters that Sony offers exclusively on PS4 has been steadily increasing. Recognizing the harsh reality, last month Xbox chief Phil Spencer admitted that the company had not invested enough in developing its own games. He plans to fix that next year. Moreover, we are talking about both the purchase of projects and contracts with developers and studios.

In general, indies are now practically the only interesting exclusives on Xbox One. In the same time, quality Microsoft will never learn how to make AAA games until it stops thinking in terms of Forza and Gears of War alone. Note that indie is not always bad. After all, the most expensive indie game today is the notorious Minecraft, which is now owned by Microsoft. So it’s no surprise that he opens our list of the best of the best.

Since purchasing the game in 2015, Microsoft has improved the graphics significantly while still managing to not ruin its pixelated charm. Importantly, the game has become cross-platform, so people around the world can play together regardless of what they are playing on. Surprisingly, the “soulfulness” of Minecraft has not disappeared from these changes and it is still just as addictive. Next year the graphics will be improved again, adding HDR and more detailed textures. This excellent game with high-quality original graphics will remain a necessary item in the collection of almost every gamer for a long time.

The second game from Playdead, the developers of Limbo, showed what they can do if they try to make the game a little clearer for the player. Inside is a physics-based platformer that tells the story of a young boy who tries to break into a research facility. Although at some point it will seem that it is impossible to complete the game, an interesting plot makes you move on. While sci-fi and dystopian genres in a game aimed at teenagers is almost guaranteed to mean something like The Hunger Games, Inside's case came out more like Black Mirror. By the time you see the end credits, all the frustration from countless defeats will disappear with one of the craziest endings in modern video games.

If you're going to play this masterpiece from Blizzard, we recommend the Xbox One version. Playing with friends is easy with Xbox Live, which makes sharing volume between game and voice chat, adding new people to your team, and even streaming through Mixer incredibly easy on Microsoft's console. Overwatch came out last year, but it’s still popular and doesn’t get boring. At the same time, the Blozzard team is only fueling the excitement of players by adding new characters, modes and locations - and for free. So, by purchasing Overwatch, you automatically provide yourself with all the innovations that the developers’ imagination can handle.

Cuphead

After a number of transfers, Cuphead was finally released this year - and on several platforms at once, including Xbox One. This side-scroller from Studio MDHR is close in spirit to classics like Contra and Ghouls 'n Ghosts - and the graphic style only complements that sense of retro nostalgia. At the same time, the creators took as a visual reference not the usual 8- or 16-bit games, but hand-drawn cartoons of the 30s. But in order to win, you will have to distract yourself from the colorful design and animation and concentrate on passing: remembering the level layout, the location of enemies and the tactics of boss attacks. Cuphead can be challenging even for experienced players, but this unique project is worth all the “I can't do this anymore” moments that follow.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

The Halo series has been a Microsoft goldmine since the first game released on Xbox in 2001. But in recent years, hostility towards the series and its shortcomings has been constantly growing. That's why we recommend the Master Chief Collection (MCC), a collection of the best and most iconic parts of the franchise with improved graphics and a unique mission selection menu with support for sorting by topic. Want to play through the introductory level of each game in turn? Please. Are you only interested in missions where you have to drive a car? And that's not a problem. In addition, in MCC all locations are available for online play. While most players have moved on to Halo 5: Guardians, this is a good way to remember your first Halo LAN mission.

Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3 isn't just Microsoft's newest racing game. It's also the best Forza game to date. Unlike the main Forza Motorsport series, in this installment, be prepared to put the pedal to the metal and do whatever craziness you can. It's more arcade than simulator - but that also doesn't mean accuracy isn't important. The laws of physics still apply here. Tired of beaches and jungles? The Blizzard Mountain expansion will show you the challenge of driving in inclement weather. Another addition, Hot Wheels, floods the streets with toy cars from the Cars movie.

Alan Wake

The main advantage of the Xbox One is its backward compatibility. Simply put, it lets you play every game in the massive Xbox 360 library, while PlayStation 4 players are deprived of most of the PlayStation 3's masterpieces. Alan Wake from Remedy Games became Microsoft's first exclusive back in 2010. The main character is a writer whose life has been invaded by dark creatures from a novel he once wrote. The quiet town of Bright Falls and its inhabitants are gradually taken over by a dark entity, turning both people and even objects into terrible enemies. To defeat them, firearms will not be enough. First, you need a flashlight or torch to “cauterize” the evil spirits - and only after this the enemy can be destroyed.

Ori and the Blind Forest

Ori and the Blind Forest will break your heart within 10 minutes of playing. After this, however, it will become easier - at least emotionally. In the tradition of Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Ori invites the player to explore a vast 2D world where secrets can be hidden in plain sight, and as characters level up, new passages will be discovered in long-familiar locations. Stunning music and high-quality graphics perfectly complement the gameplay. If you like physics-based platformers like Super Meat Boy, Ori and the Blind Forest is almost guaranteed to please you. Now is also a great time to play it: Microsoft has already ordered a sequel from the developers.

When Microsoft bought Rare Ware back in 2002, the main question among players was whether this meant the resurrection of the legendary Killer Instinct series. So it was, but due to constant postponements, the release dragged on for 11 years - and in the end, development was completely transferred to Iron Galaxy. Microsoft, for its part, added new heroes: General Raam from Gears of War, the Arbiter from Halo and Rush from the legendary Battletoads for NES. Now the number of available characters in the fighting game is confidently approaching 30, and the combat system is no less pleasing than in its time on the Super NES and N64. Story mode is ideal for those who like to play alone, and you can train against artificial intelligence that simulates the playstyle of real people from your friends list. It's something like the Drivatar system from Forza, only in KI you don't need to overtake the enemy, but hit them.

Quantum Break combines elements of a third-person shooter with an interactive movie genre in which the player's decisions affect how each episode ends. To solve puzzles and get rid of enemies you have to use not only weapons, but also manipulations with time. The fact is that, according to the plot, errors in the space-time continuum led to the fact that time began to collapse. Because of this, time in the game periodically stops - and it doesn’t matter what happens at that moment. Everything can come to a standstill when a barge crashes into a suspension bridge or a helicopter attacks an office building. This makes the game unique - and beautiful. Speaking of beauty: the developers prepared for the release of the Xbox One X and released a patch with improved graphics. So, if you have the latest version of the console from Microsoft, Quantum Break is a definite must-have.

Not sure what games to buy for Xbox One? Take a look at our list of the best projects for this platform. If your Xbox One library is missing even half of these games, you're missing out.

Our selection of Xbox One games recently expanded to include Far Cry 5 and A Way Out, which wowed us with their expansive open world and intense co-op gameplay, respectively. Sea of Thieves was also included, but the game didn’t have enough depth to take one of the places in the selection - nevertheless, it’s a pretty fun project that deserves your attention. We will continue to monitor upcoming games and add to the list of the best titles for Xbox One.

This list is filled with great games for Xbox One, including classics like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gears of War 4, as well as many others like The Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Origins, which are among the most significant releases for Xbox One X. There are many truly outstanding games to be found in every genre.

So let's take a look at the best games for Xbox One. This is a relatively small selection, consisting of 25 items, which includes only the undisputed favorites of their genres. And the competition among them is really tough.

Retired from the main list

If you told us that 96% of road accidents in Australia are caused by drivers overlooking the scenery and forgetting to pay attention to the road, we would believe it without question. All you have to do is play Forza Horizon 3, a game that will show you what your Xbox One is capable of. This is an incredibly beautiful racing simulator with carefully recreated car models and dynamic races on the roads of Australia, which will not leave indifferent both avid racers and fans of photorealistic graphics. This is definitely the best part of the Forza series and perhaps of all time.

The brand is not strongly associated with the Microsoft console, but this does not change the fact that Final Fantasy 15 turned out to be one of the best RPGs of the year. It combines a vast open world, created by all standards of Western RPGs, and a standard Final Fantasy anime atmosphere, in places taken to the point of healthy absurdity. This mixture works perfectly, thanks to which we have a rich world full of ferocious monsters, huge magic crystals and powerful magic.

At times, Final Fantasy 15 feels like a jumble of ideas, but all the elements presented - a strange world, exciting real-time combat, and likable characters that accompany you throughout the adventure - add up to something incredible. This is perhaps the best Final Fantasy game in years; This game fully lives up to its expectations.

After numerous delays, Cuphead was finally released and instantly became one of the best games for Xbox One - it will definitely appeal to all shooter fans (you can find out more about it in our review). Visually, the game adheres to the cartoon style of the 1930s (particularly the Betty Boop shorts and Disney's Silly Symphonies series), while the gameplay is clearly inspired by the likes of Mega Man, Contra, Metal Slug and Gunstar Heroes.

The levels here are not particularly long, but the whole point lies in the complexity of the game, which requires you to be attentive and the ability to remember the sequence of actions of your opponents. Each boss is a real test of strength, and the pleasure of defeating them is simply beyond words.

*leave all your complaints in the comments

Yes, we are well aware of all the problems of this collection, but it would be unreasonable to deny the skill of its creators. The genius of Bungie and the love of studio 343 in one bottle - this is how you can briefly describe this set that is significant for the entire industry.

A polished and updated collection of legendary games, the Master Chief Collection makes you wonder if Halo always looked this good. And guess what? At the time of its release, each part looked as worthy as this entire collection today.

The first minutes of a match in Rainbow Six: Siege look more like some kind of slasher film than a brave first-person shooter. There is a stomping sound coming from the roof, which does not bode well. People stuck in the house quickly make traps and obstacles, like the hero of the movie “Home Alone.” Enemies begin to ram the door, creating panic. This kind of tension is common in most horror games.

But once you come face to face with the enemy team, the game throws you into the thick of a gritty, unforgiving war story where deep strategy comes first. Carefully plan your tactics and achieve victory in short but intense rounds of one of the most exciting multiplayer shooters on Xbox One.

The Halo series is known for its balance between campaign and multiplayer, but in this installment the developers focused on the multiplayer component. The story of Locke's pursuit of the Chief isn't as epic as we'd like, but we're excited for the franchise's most exciting multiplayer experience yet. Halo 5: Guardians invites us to plunge into the exciting world of online battles. The good old arena, brought back to Halo, is a classic platform for skirmishes, made according to all the canons of the genre.

If you want something more inventive, then the War Zone mode is at your service, where you will find large-scale battles based on a card collection system. Moreover, just recently, studio 343 announced that the new “Big Team Battles” mode and the updated version of Blood Gulch will be available for free. Welcome home.

Imagine a beautiful and elegant book of fairy tales... which slams shut over and over again, leaving bruises and bleeding wounds on your fingers. This is Ori and the Blind Forest, a game from Microsoft created by a group of retro enthusiasts given a decent budget (and freedom) to develop a worthy successor to classic platformers.

Not only is the game a great example of how to bring the recognizable mechanics of Metroid and Castlevania into a modern setting, combining it with a touching story, but it is also deservedly considered the most beautiful 2D project of all time. Therefore, passing by this masterpiece is highly recommended.

Shadow of War, with its rich world and carefully crafted mechanics, is the perfect sequel - the combat is more dynamic, the environment is more detailed, and all the elements interact perfectly with each other. In addition, this is one of the most beautiful games for Xbox One X. It is worth noting the impressive scale of the project. It will take you about 15 hours to complete the prologue alone; 25 – to open the entire map, so don’t think that a couple of evenings will be enough for you to complete it.

The Nemesis system, which is iconic for the series, has also been improved, which now includes entire story branches dedicated to battles with orcs - the development of these heroes depends on whether they won the battle with you or not. The game also added castles that can be captured and the ability to create your own armies. Even if you love The Lord of the Rings, the local open world will not leave you indifferent.

FIFA 18 introduces a number of innovations to the already established formula: for example, shots from distance can now be more effective, and the soccer ball itself spins in the air in much the same way as in real life. The AI of opponents has also improved, and each player has acquired his own unique style of play, which must be taken into account when drawing up team tactics.

The single-player mode also remains in place, where we have to get used to the role of the selected football player and which at times includes matches from the regular campaign. The latter, by the way, allowed FIFA 18 to overtake PES this year, because it includes the largest number of sports leagues among all football simulators. And finally, the FIFA Ultimate Team mode has been improved, which can now be completed without investing real money

Wolfenstein: The New Order is one of the most brutal, exciting and smart shooters of our generation. The sequel from MachineGames, called The New Colossus, confidently multiplies all the achievements of its predecessor by two. BJ Blaskowicz's touching story takes place in the 1960s in an alternate universe where America has been conquered by the Nazis.

Here we have a rather bold statement on the topic of prejudice, cruelty and insensitivity, which is not without quite appropriate humor. This is a game that makes you think, and, importantly, gives you plenty of shooting at crowds of Nazis, without being shy about particularly bloody scenes.

After the announcement of Battlefield 1, we were afraid that the World War II flop would be added to DICE's resume. The fact is that bloody and tragic military conflicts from history are not the best platform for a fun shooter. However, the anthology format presented in the game was extremely successful - with its help we were able to immerse ourselves in the thick of the action, viewing it from different points of view and without losing sight of how much human lives are devalued in war.

The story of how a British driver turns into a tank driver has incredible emotional depth that we haven't seen before in Battlefield. But this is not a tearful drama - this is an epic shooter, showing the war in all its details; and this is a unique project for the Xbox One console. The multiplayer mode, designed for 64 people, will keep you busy for many months. This is a game that exceeds all expectations.

Don't let the snowy landscapes fool you; This is a dynamic action adventure with explosions, chases and great gunplay, which until recently was only available to owners of (ahem) other consoles. A virtual walk through beautiful locations gracefully flows into a struggle for survival, after which it turns into stealth, leading to brutal action - before us is a worthy embodiment of a video game icon, presented on the scale of a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster.

At a time when other games try to impress us with open worlds with content that will last for weeks, Rise of the Tomb Raider is not shy about its nature - it is a thrilling ride, designed to last about 10 hours, but every minute spent in it will leave a lot of positive emotions. Unless, of course, you count those moments where Lara dies due to your fault. There's not much fun in this.

A list of the best Xbox One games simply couldn't be complete without Forza. Improved AI, collision system, updated controls - all this in Forza Motorsport 7 is done at the highest level, as befits a worthy racing simulator. The cars are fun to drive, and you really feel like you're in the driver's seat when you're taking the car into a long drift or hitting a guardrail. It is worth recognizing that the game masterfully corrects all the shortcomings of the previous part.

This is definitely the best game in the series, which creates a realistic and exciting experience for the gamer. Of course, some of the races presented may seem a little difficult, but if you gain experience in numerous races and various championships, then you simply stop paying attention to it.

Somewhere during the fourth act, when real hell was happening on the screen, bullets were flying in all directions, blood was gushing in rivers, and we were using chainsaws to chop up enemies who were getting close and trying to kill snipers who were holed up in the distance, unimaginably beautiful music began to play. It was as if God himself was singing: “I’m wildly sorry for Gears of War: Judgment.” Apologies are accepted.

The bloodbath that is Gears of War 4 introduces us to an army of new monsters, each of which requires individual tactics, and new ideas for the combat system. This means it's the first sequel since Gears 2 that can surprise fans without sacrificing the excellent cover-based shooting that made the series famous. And we don't need more.

Most cooperative games come down to the fact that sometimes there are several doors in the levels that only two people can open. There are similar doors in A Way Out, but the game itself develops the concept of cooperative play much better.

Both players are constantly given different tasks, which are necessarily interconnected and which allow them to fully experience the importance of teamwork. You will find a lot of memorable scenes - from fixing a car to escaping from prison, which will ultimately lead to an incredibly strong ending.

Let's face it. The Resident Evil series has been feeling out of sorts for a few years now. And this situation has clearly dragged on. After the incredible success of RE 4, which essentially laid the foundations for the third-person shooter genre, the franchise began to gradually sink into mediocrity. However, in 2017, RE finally returned to its roots, reminding all its fans what real fear is. Resident Evil 7, which upended the established laws of the series, is a first-person survival horror, the action of which takes place on an old Louisiana farm, where the main character is looking for his missing wife. Villains straight out of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre? On the spot.

Creepy body horror. One more tick. And, of course, a gripping story that doesn’t let go until the very end. Resident Evil 7 boldly breaks the stereotypes created in previous installments and offers us a truly unpredictable adventure. Of course, the iconic herbs for the series haven’t disappeared anywhere, but in everything else it’s perfect, which makes you wander through ominous corridors even when you most want to lock yourself in a safe room and not go out anywhere.

If a shooter has the ability to run along walls, jump off them and climb into gigantic mechanical Titans on the fly, then this shooter instantly attracts our attention. Titanfall 2 falls into this category. “Where is the single-player party?” we grumbled when the first Titanfall came out in 2014. “We convinced you!” responded the Respawn studio. “Here is a sequel with a story about a pilot and his Titan. In it, you'll gradually unlock weapons for the Titan, each of which looks like it could be used to blow the universe to pieces.

It will have a level where you can travel through time by pressing just one button. It will feature hours of exhilarating, inventive action that will make every shooter since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare look dull. Are you satisfied now? Yes, now we were happy. We also appreciated the Bounty Hunt multiplayer mode (a real nightmare for capitalists) and promise not to call Respawn studio employees lazy anymore.

Since Valve isn't going to make Team Fortress 3, why shouldn't Blizzard release it. The developers of World of Warcraft had previously avoided the shooter genre, and therefore it is still difficult to believe that Overwatch has become one of the best multiplayer FPS. The game features a motley cast of colorful heroes, each of whom has abilities that are supposed to upset the balance (Tracer can rewind time!), but in reality everything works surprisingly well.

That is, we can launch fire arrows, summon dragons, create walls of ice and rewind time as much as we like without feeling like cheaters. The game is already a year old, and the only thing I can complain about is Tracer’s unnatural accent. By this logic, if Blizzard ever decided to invite players to dinner, it would prepare so many dishes that the problem of world hunger would be solved in a matter of hours.

After the endless gameplay of the first game, which took away weeks of life from millions of gamers, what could Destiny 2 offer to surpass the original? The answer is obvious: everything is the same, but multiplied by two. In the sequel, almost every detail - space travel, weapon collecting and MMO elements - is expanded and polished to a shine.

Every little detail in the game indicates that Bungie has done a lot of work to improve the mistakes made in the first game, adding depth to the character progression system and diversifying the set of tasks that must be completed to progress. As a result, we got a game in which single-player battles, multiplayer battles and leveling up the hero look equally enjoyable.

After the previous parts, it might seem that the series simply has nothing to surprise us with, but Far Cry 5 once again raises the bar of quality to a new level thanks to its excellent design and rich world. It's a more straightforward game, with routine side quests giving way to the series' signature action and mayhem. Yes, we still liberate bases and shoot villains in huge locations, but now there is no need to spend long hours crafting or searching for towers.

All this is a thing of the past, and the game concentrates on shootouts, fires and clashes with wild animals. The chosen setting is also interesting - the fictional state of Montana turned out to be quite realistic. Moreover, you can play through the game in co-op, and if you get tired of it, you can always switch to the arcade level editor and create a couple of new locations.

The biggest gaming blockbuster deserves a place in the top five. Even at the time of its release, GTA 5 was a wonderful and meticulously designed project with a gorgeous open world, and on Xbox One it sparkled with new colors, as it featured improved graphics, a lot of new content and the ability to beat up pedestrians from a first-person view.

In addition, the game has acquired a new online component – a cooperative heist mode. Thus, Rockstar has given us a vast and rich world in which from the very first seconds you can do whatever comes into your head. After all, this is what we expect from GTA.

Minecraft, whose fame continues to this day, is a game that can be both surprisingly simple and incredibly complex. Whether you're building your world in Creative mode or trying to survive another day in Survival mode, Mojang's masterpiece generates unique and unrepeatable situations every time. This is a world in which you can spend an eternity.

Moreover, this world is constantly evolving, delighting us with new textures, new gameplay features and other improvements that erase even hints of stagnation. If you associate Minecraft only with the ubiquitous green blocks, then it's time to catch up.

4. Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin's Creed Origins is the long-awaited reboot that the series needed so much. And it turned out exactly as we hoped. In addition, the game can easily be called one of the reasons to buy an Xbox One X console, because the updated graphics look simply amazing. This Assassin's Creed has turned into a full-fledged RPG with an open world, character leveling, creative kills and flexible gameplay. An adventure in ancient Egypt will delight many with a lot of side quests, details and secrets that you can search for days on end.

And the redesigned combat system works great in tandem with a fully customizable equipment system. (Double blades and a poison shield? A sword that increases health and a bow with controlled arrows? You can craft all of these without any problems). Add here a witty plot presentation, as well as an impressive number of options for completing each mission, and you get the perfect reboot of the Assassin’s Creed series, which, symbolically, tells the story of the origins of the Assassin Order.

3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

If we were not familiar with the history of the creation of this game, then we would confidently say that the Konami studio developed the last part of Metal Gear Solid without the participation of Hideo Kojima, since the game is very different from the master’s past creations. Yes, it was not without the series' typical jokes, crazy mechanisms and even crazier conspiracy theories that seemed to be collected from the depths of the Internet, but this is clearly not one of those games that usually comes from the pen of Kojima.

Shifting the focus to a massive open world with multiple missions not only made the game a master class for all stealth action game developers, but also gave players freedom of choice - in essence, we became directors of our own spy films. Did you manage to pull off an intricate multi-level heist? Know that the scripts have nothing to do with it - this is solely your merit.

Things don't go according to plan and you have to detonate explosives planted in an enemy base and then fly off into the sunset on a mechanical chicken? So, at this moment you were the author of the script. In the past, many have noted that Hideo Kojima enjoys quoting his favorite movies more than creating games. But MGS 5 proves this judgment wrong - Kojima wants us to quote our favorite films ourselves. And we will gladly spend several hundred hours on this.

We knew from the very beginning what awaited us. Something big and something buggy, because we are talking about Bethesda. Fallout 4 is an example of natural evolution - it is a game in which the sometimes meaningless exploration of the world, pleasant humor and the system of moral choice from the previous two parts coexist with elements new to the genre. This, of course, is not a revolutionary breakthrough, but the voice acting of the main character, and (shock!) the ability not to look into boxes to pick up their contents, definitely benefited the game.

Don’t think that periodic drops in frame rate and bugs of varying degrees of severity are left behind, but you’ll be less angry at them, because the game masterfully juggles the attention of gamers, switching it from one detail to another. Bethesda studio has once again packed into one project material that could be enough for a couple of games of different genres, presenting us with perhaps the most intense game of this generation. Once you start it, you will be stuck in it for many weeks.

Arguably the most exciting RPG of all time, it features a unique and memorable storyline, a series of contracts that are more surprising than the last, and a set of amazing side quests, some of which surpass the stories told in most modern games in their depth. The world of Witcher 3 is truly worthy of being called a world - it is full of political intrigue, its own folklore and, of course, monsters that need to be cut into small pieces.

A separate advantage of the project from CD Projekt RED is a set of completely free DLCs, the first of which, Hearts of Stone, we officially call the reason that the game came first in this collection. It's a beautiful, inventive and genre-defining game that won't be forgotten decades from now.
